Description
Geographic situation: Northern Rhône, left bank, from the hill of Hermitage; known worldwide Grape Variety: Syrah Terroir: The steep slope of Hermitage, facing south, is located to the North-East of Tain l’Hermitage. The hills around Tain are constituted, on the western side, of granitic sand and on the eastern side, of loess. This cuvee is 75% fluvio-glacial alluvions and 25% granitic soil. Climate: With a Mediterranean influence, very sunny and protected from northern winds Wine-making: Rigorous parcel selection from our vineyard manager on old vines with small yields. Long and classic vatting (3 weeks to a month) and running off when the wines are warm, directly into new French oak barrels. Ageing: 16 months in new French barrels Tasting notes: Colour : deep and bright purple Bouquet: Intense black fruits with vanilla, spicy notes. Palate: dense and powerful, with soft and velvety tanins and a savoury length. A racy wine ! Ageing Potential :25 years Food & Wine Matches: Game and flavoursome red meats such as a Tournedos Rossini, chicken with a crayfish sauce. Serving Temperature : 16 – 18°C
