Founded in 1824, Macallan was one of the first legal distilleries in Scotland. Situated on the banks of the River Spey, the country estate with the mysterious name "Easter Elchie House" sits gracefully on a hill near Craigellachie. Here, where the Spey runs its swift course in the shadow of the Grampian Mountains, the location and climate create unique conditions for whisky production. The distillery was first licensed in 1824 by Alexander Reid. The distillery initially ran as a sideline on the farm until it was taken over by Roderick Kemp in 1882, whose family brought the business to prosperity over the following 100 years. Sweet, Fresh & Vibrant Classic Cut is an annual, limited edition series of whiskies with a unique character. Release 2023 is the seventh edition and is characterized by its unmistakable pear note, which ends in a sweet and creamy finish of almond biscotti. Tasting Notes Nose: Elegant aroma of pears and elderflower with light almond notes and rich vanilla bean. Taste: Sweet and creamy vanilla, juicy pear and lemon zest with delicate oak.
