Génépi des Pères Chartreux *

"Genépi" is a generic term given in the Alps to several species of plants aromatics which include, among other things, some high-altitude artemisia. Traditionally the mountain dwellers collect them and put them to macerate in alcohol to give birth to an alpine liqueur aptly named: Génépi. Each one jealously guards its formula and its places of picking. The Carthusians who master perfectly for several centuries the manufacturing processes of their liqueurs have put to the point theirs. This is the result of a patient elaboration which includes several macerations followed by a meticulous distillation: thus we will find in this liqueur all the aroma and the natural color of génépi.
