Description
Who would have imagined more than 70 years ago that Sassicaia would become an iconic wine? Originally an experiment, it was never intended for commercial release. In 1944, Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta planted the Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in Bolgheri. Initially made for family and friends, Sassicaia was eventually released to the public for the first time in 1968.
