    The name evokes the Hill of Forca Real, a black pyramidal mountain, recognisable from miles around. This black mountain has been a sea bitter since ancient times and is still used today as a landmark by fishermen. The wine is an expression of black Grenache from the highlands on schist, magnified by ageing in old oak barrels.
