Description
The Bolgheri Rosso was first produced in 2004: a cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The grapes come from the three sites Casa Vecchia (1983), Vignone (1999) and Madonnina (2002). The yield per plant is between 1000 and 1200 grams. After about ten days of maceration, the wine is pressed and aged for six months in one- and two-year-old barriques. The Bolgheri Rosso is characterised by a decidedly powerful bouquet, with notes of leather, wood, cinnamon and spices. The Cabernet Franc grape gives it a racy component. Together with the fresh fruitiness often found in grapes of young vines, this results in a charming interplay of lively aromas and juicy body. The Bolgheri Rosso shows a wonderful fullness, is perfectly balanced and velvety smooth on the palate. If you are looking for an exceptional table wine that not everyone already knows, this is the wine for you.
