De Koninck owes its beautiful golden colour to the specialty and caramel malts used. A well-served glass is recognisable from its beautiful creamy head. A thin layer of creamy foam persists in the glass, to the last sip.

De Koninck has a slightly malty aroma with a hint of caramel. A slightly hoppy beer with a touch of cinnamon.

De Koninck has a surprisingly strong mouth, and slightly bitter-drying yet velvety flavour. A light beer, the 'bolleke' (5%) is special and so nice we ask for more.

Object type 'Products (10018)' does not contain category 'Cepage' of type N/A.

Bolleke' takes its name from the glass ball traditionally used for top fermented beers like De Koninck. The original tall-stem glass, hand-blown at Hainaut glass furnaces, has become a real collector's item.

Food pairing
De Koninck combines perfectly with baked endives, mushrooms, beetroot, and with salmon or pork.

Brewery's info

De Koninck brewery was founded in 1833. On the border between Anvers and Berchem. The hand that is on the logo refers to the hand that was carved on the stone border.

This amber beer is brewed from Czech Saaz-Saaz hops and 100% pure barley.
