Christmas Beers
In this season the days get shorter, darker and above all colder. The ideal time to stay at home and warm up with a good winter beer!
Christmas beers, or more commonly known today as "winter beers", are brewed in limited quantities and therefore only available for two or three months. This tradition goes back to that of "Wasseil", a hot cider (or mulled wine) with spices that was drunk in the Middle Ages in Germanic and Anglo-Saxon countries. The name comes from old Norwegian "ves heil" or old English "was hál" which literally means "Be you healthy". The expression was quickly adopted to wish "Good health" to the person you are toasting with.
After this little history lesson, here are several beers to taste in this season!
