Over 125 years of pioneering work For 20 years, William Grant dreamed of making the "best whiskey in the valley. With the help of his family, he was finally able to turn his idea into reality. In the summer of 1886, William Grant, with the help of his seven sons and two daughters, set about the task. Together, they built the walls of a distillery, stone by stone. After a year of hard work, they finally reached their goal, and William Grant decided to name his work Glenfiddich, "the valley of the stags" in Gaelic. Today, William Grant's passion, determination and pioneering spirit continue to permeate Glenfiddich. Glenfiddich, the most awarded single malt in the world, is still produced in the original distillery. Still in family hands, the distillery has preserved the innovative spirit of its founder for five generations. 20 brilliant experts for an exceptional whisky For Project XX, Brian Kinsman broke with the usual conventions of single malt production. He invited 20 whisky experts from 16 countries to Dufftown and asked them to select a cask from Glenfiddich's stock. The selection ranged from whiskies stored for many years in port casks to whiskies resting in old sherry casks and old oak bourbon barrels. Brian Kinsman then combined the casks in a masterful way. His goal was to create a whisky that would not only be unique, but would also reflect the unmistakable and rich flavors of the different casks. Tasting Nose: A hint of apple blossom, summer fruits and ripe pears. Aromas of oak, generous and creamy vanilla and notes of malt. Palate: Refined and balanced, with sweet hints of cotton candy and generous, oaky vanilla. Finish: Long and tasty, with sweet oak notes.
